Our partner DeerwooD5 is located at 257 Kator Dunn Road in Albertson, North Carolina, is the 880-acre property nestled in the quiet countryside of Duplin County. It offers a rare blend of natural beauty, privacy, and purpose-built amenities. The land unfolds in rolling fields, hardwood stands, and longleaf pine corridors, creating a diverse habitat for whitetail deer, wild turkey, small game, and native wildlife. Wide trails weave through the property allowing for walkable paths and ATVs. The Goshen Swamp, a blackwater creek tributary of the Northeast Cape Fear River, brings in the ducks traveling south.
The Hunter’s Cabin was built by hand using the techniques of hard labor sprinkled with a little bit of colorful language. It is comfortable and inviting.

Kator Dunn Farm offers an incredible experience from start to finish. They go above and beyond with genuine hospitality and make every veteran feel welcomed and appreciated. This is more than just a hunt—it’s a reset. Time in the woods, shared stories, amazing accommodations, and the kind of camaraderie that veterans truly understand. They’ve created something special where appreciation isn’t just said—it’s shown. I am truly grateful for what they’re doing for the veteran community.

Teresa and Brian at Kator Dunn provided a fantastic experience. I brought my son with me and he had the time of his life. Deer hunting, skeet shooting, a camp fire every night, and the boys got to shoot some pumpkins. Every meal was taken care of and the food was amazing. It was cool to find out it was all locally sourced too. You can tell they really have a passion for what they're doing.

My experience hunting at Kator Dunn Farms was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcome. The genuine appreciation for military service was humbling. The trip was well-organized and engaging, allowing hunters to choose their “spot” and even have some friendly competition with sporting clays. The property itself is incredible and well-managed, offering outstanding hunting opportunities. The best part of the trip was the incredible food and fellowship. Each meal felt like a gathering of friends with hearty, home-cooked dishes that were delicious. These meals were shared around the table with great conversation and plenty of laughs. There was a genuine sense of camaraderie that made it easy to connect with others, swap stories, and just enjoy the moment. Kator Dunn Farms is a great place built by incredible people, truly focused on their mission of the transition from warrior to hunter.

My son and I went on a hunt at the Kator Dunn Farm and we had an amazing time. Just spending time on the property and getting to enjoy the harvest was a blessing but the fellowship around the fire was even better. Brian and Teresa are great hosts who clearly love the veteran community. My son will be telling stories from the Kator Dunn Farm for a long time.

This isn’t just a place to hunt—it’s a place to heal, reconnect, and remember what really matters. Their mission of serving veterans and their families isn’t something they just talk about…they live it. You can feel it in every detail, every conversation, and every moment spent on that land.
